Who would have thought that KDE, a popular Linux desktop environment, would also be made available for Windows, along with its various applications? The KDE Windows Installer is exactly what it sounds like - an installer for KDE on Windows operating systems such as Windows 2000, XP, and 2003, with compatibility for Windows Vista in the near future.
To install KDE on your Windows system, simply choose the installation folder for its applications. Remember this folder location, as you will need to access it later (bin) in order to run KDE applications. While most of the original KDE applications are included in this Windows version, some are still missing. The best way to explore and access these applications is to open up Konqueror, KDE's web browser, and navigate to the Applications option to browse through programs categorized by type.
If you are still unsure about using KDE on Windows, you can check out the list of applications included in the package on Wikipedia for more information about what is available.
